Civilization VII Won't Launch When Using DirectX12 Launch Option
When trying to launch the game using the DirectX12 launch option, the game won't open.
Workaround: The crash doesn't occur when launching with Vulkan shaders selected.
If you have encountered this issue, please submit a support ticket with a copy of your crash dump file attached. You can follow the steps below to find this file:
- Paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps into your File Explorer search box
- This will open C:\Users\xxxxxxxxxxx\AppData\Local
- Look for the folder titled Crash Dump
- Look for any files that include the name Civ7 and the suffix .dmp
