Losing Gold With Positive Gold Per Turn

If you notice that your Gold balance is going down, even though your Gold Per Turn is positive, the Gold is being stolen by Spies. Opposing Civilization can train Spies and assign them to your Cities to siphon Gold. 

To prevent this from happening, you can assign your own Spy Unit to a City and set it to Counterspy.
