[PC] Unable to Create a New Save

This often happens when your Documents folder is set to “Read Only,” meaning neither you nor a program can modify it. This setting is sometimes changed by Windows Security updates. 

These changes can be reverted:

• Go to C:\Users\<Your Username>
• Right-click the Documents folder and select Properties.
• Ensure the option Read Only isn’t selected.

If Windows automatically marks the folder as Read Only again, creating a new Windows profile with administrator privileges should put a stop to it.

If after all that, you’re still having this issue, go to Documents/My Games/Sid Meier’s Civilization VI/saves. Your save files should end with .Civ6Save rather than .CIV6SAVE.
