Poor Performance When Viewing Cinematics

When an in-game movie plays it is slow and regularly stutters.

Workaround:

1. Browse to the installation directory (C:\program files\Firaxis games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 by default)
2. Double-click on the file named _Civ4Config
3. Browse through the file for the line:
   • HideMovieBackground = 0
4. Change the 0 to a 1

NOTE: Editing game files can have unintended effects. If you notice issues after editing the file, fully uninstall and reinstall the game.
